ReplyDeleteNice presentation. I like the simple cloud value prop stuff at the front. And it reinforces to me that the assurance steps really aren't cloud specific in any way. Hosting it yourself and not doing metrics and DR and whatnot is equally as foolish.
ReplyDeleteExactly. It really is no different in many ways then what you need to do today. A lot of it comes down to the fact this whole concept is "new", and anything new is (appropriately) untrusted. I bet companies went through the same fear when they started hosting their servers outside their own offices.
ReplyDeleteAs the trust builds and standards solidify, companies should start to feel more comfortable with the PaaS approach, which today is still rarely used. PaaS is where we're headed, it's just a matter of time.
